Fabiano Sobreira

Fabiano is architect and urban planner, and is studying for a Ph.D. at the Federal University of Pernambuco, in Brazil. He is an affiliate student at CASA - University College London, and is exploring methods and theories for spatial analysis of spontaneous urban structures, namely slums and squatter settlements.

The TCE (Government of Pernambuco), where he has been working since 1991, analysing technical and financial viability and accountability of architectural, urban and engineering public projects, and CAPES (Brazilian research agency) are the sponsors of his research.

He taught Architectural Planning at the Federal University of Pernambuco for two years (1999/2000) and has been carrying out research related to spatial analysis of housing states and slums since 1994. In the last few years, Fabiano has presented and published papers in several conferences.
